If you are charged with a DUI in San Joaquin County, you will likely end up at one of three courthouses:
The Court’s website can be found at https://www.sjcourts.org/. If you are charged with a misdemeanor, a San Joaquin County DUI attorney can make all the appearances for you in court without your presence (with limited exceptions).
San Joaquin County DUI fines and fees are around $1,900.
If you are convicted of a DUI in San Joaquin County, you will likely be authorized to complete your sentence out of custody through the sheriff’s Alternative Work Program (AWP). The application fee for AWP is $75, and costs $10/day or one hour of gross wage (whichever is greater). AWP can be contacted at (209) 468-4620.
The San Joaquin Sheriff also offers an Electronic Monitoring Program (EMP). In addition to the $75 application fee, EMP costs $15/day or one hour of your gross wage (whichever is greater).
When applying for either program, be sure to speak with your San Joaquin DUI lawyer to ensure that you bring all the necessary court paperwork to your appointment. Also, if you would like to serve your sentence in a county other than San Joaquin County, be sure to inform your attorney so that they can make that request on your behalf.
